Maryland football humiliated by Ohio State once again
By Ethan Cadeaux
A yr has past since Ohio Land came into Maryland Stadium and defeated the Terps 62-3, and, well it's safe to say, nothing has changed.
A year later and in a different venue, the Buckeyes shattered any hopes or dreams the Terrapins hadabout pulling off an upset over a meridian 10 team, as Ohio Country defeated Maryland 62-14 in the Horseshoe.
Maryland's quarterback carousel took some other plow, as sophomore Max Bortenschlager left the game in the 3rd quarter with an injury. Information technology didn't matter, as he finished with just three completions on 12 attempts for a mere 16 yards.
Meanwhile, the Buckeyes offense was unstoppable, as it entered halftime with a 41-7 pb. Quarterback J.T. Barrett finished with 261 yards and three touchdowns before beingness replaced by sophomore Dwayne Haskins, who was previously a Terrapin commit earlier he flipped to Ohio Country a couple weeks earlier 2016'south National Signing Day.
At halftime, the Buckeyes had 361 yards of full offense, compared to only xviii from Maryland.
The Buckeyes dominated play via the run game every bit well, as five different rushers scored touchdowns. Both J.K. Dobbins and Mike Weber pb the fashion for the Buckeyes, as they each had 13 carries and a touchdown.
The Terrapins didn't score an offensive touchdown until the fourth quarter, when both teams were playing younger guys that would have never seen the field in a closer game.
Despite a kickoff return touchdown by the electric Ty Johnson in the kickoff quarter, Terps caput coach D.J. Durkin had very few positives to have abroad from Saturday's beat downwards.
Afterward an impressive road victory over Minnesota just a calendar week agone, the Terps were reminded Saturday just how much further this program has to go before they are truly a contender for the Big Ten.
